Know where to look

Keep the expectations that affect your work.

When you generate highlights, LearnAhead summarizes the information your syllabus supplies. Keep the original handy to confirm requirements and anything missing from the overview.

Grading weights

Find the contribution of exams, homework, projects, labs, discussions, and other assessment categories when the syllabus provides them.

Course policies

Keep late-work, attendance, participation, and other stated requirements accessible before you need an exception.

Work preferences

Look up citation style, formatting rules, word counts, evidence expectations, and submission details without searching the document again.

Bring your course into the conversation

A concise card.
The full source for Maya.

Your course card stays short while Maya can reference the selected course’s full saved syllabus for relevant tutoring questions.

“What does my syllabus say about the final project’s grading weight?”
“Here are my assignment instructions. Help me check which course formatting rules apply.”

For a course deadline, connect a calendar feed or add an event yourself. Syllabus highlighting does not automatically create calendar events.

Questions, answered

Before you upload a syllabus.

Which syllabus files can I upload?

Course syllabus uploads support PDF, DOCX, and TXT files up to 5 MB. You can also paste up to 100,000 characters of syllabus information. PowerPoint, screenshots, and other images are not supported for this upload.

Can I use LearnAhead without a syllabus file?

Yes. You can paste syllabus information instead of uploading a file. Getting Started needs a syllabus for your first course; afterward, you can add other classes without one. AI highlights need syllabus information to work from.

Does it put every syllabus deadline on my calendar?

No. This feature extracts course highlights; it does not create calendar events from a syllabus. Connect your Canvas Calendar Feed or add events manually in Today.

Should I rely only on the AI highlights?

No. Highlights are a quick overview. Confirm important details in your original syllabus and with your instructor. Maya can use the full saved syllabus when you select your course in Study.

Is syllabus highlighting included for free?

Free access includes five onboarding syllabus highlights and eight AI actions per day. Additional AI use is subject to your plan’s allowance. You can start without a credit card.

AI extraction can miss or misread information. Review the original syllabus and confirm important policies, dates, and grading requirements with your professor.
